Academy Operates Summer WMATA Track Construction Shuttles

Bus Shuttles Replace Metro Service During Track and Fiber Optic Cable Updates

Academy has been contracted to operate commuter shuttles for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority during track construction which has closed stations for Metro train service. Updates to track on the Orange and Silver lines plus installation of fiber optic cables required the agency to contract private bus companies to shuttle riders between closed stations. The current project encompasses six weeks of service which started in early June and will be completed in mid to late July. Academy's operations teams and drivers have prior experience operating temporary services for WMATA in other parts of the system area. We know the way!
