Receives Harry Booth '62 Award

Recently, Academy driver Vance was honored by the St. Joseph's University Baseball team with the prestigious Harry Booth '62 Award during the program's annual Lead-Off Dinner and Hall of Fame Induction ceremony.

The Harry Booth '62 Award is named in recognition of the legendary Hawk coach whose impact on the program continues to be felt decades later. The award celebrates individuals who exemplify commitment, loyalty, and an unwavering dedication to St. Joseph's Baseball.

"Recognizing Vance is a thrill for us," said Head Coach Fritz Hamburg. "Most people have no idea how valuable a driver is to a program. For the amount of time we spend on the road, having someone who cares as much about the players and coaches as we do from within the program is priceless. Vance is not only our bus driver, but he embodies the Hawk mantra. He follows our home games, he checks in during the offseason, and he genuinely cares about all of us. These are just a few reasons why we are recognizing him with Harry's award."

For collegiate athletic programs, time on the road is more than travel its preparation, team bonding, and focus. Having a driver who understands the rhythm of a season and takes prides in being part of the journey makes a meaningful difference.

Vance's professionalism, reliability, and personal investment in the team have made him an extended member of the Hawk family.

We are incredibly proud of Vance for this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the care and commitment he brings to every trip.
